Servicing
Fire sprinklers are recognised for their exceptional reliability and have earned an esteemed reputation for their efficacy in controlling and suppressing fires within structures.
Peace of mind
Regular system servicing will ensure the sprinkler system is always primed and prepared to act as designed, in the unfortunate event of a fire. A faulty sprinkler system could lead to delays in sprinkler activation or even worse, total system failure.
During a service, a qualified engineer will conduct a visual inspection on the sprinkler system heads, pipework, valve sets and water supplies. They will also test the pressure, flow, and systems alarms, providing you with complete peace of mind that your home or business is fully protected.
How often should a sprinkler system be serviced?
Sprinkler systems are required to undergo a visual inspection on an annual basis, in compliance with BS:9251:2021, which delineates the standards for domestic and residential sprinkler installations. Our office will proactively reach out to clients no less than four weeks prior to the scheduled inspection to provide a timely reminder that their system is due for assessment.
Legislation
While there exists no statutory obligation for homeowners and clients to service their sprinkler systems, it is imperative for landlords to undertake proactive maintenance of life safety equipment in accordance with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in England and Wales, as well as The Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006. Noncompliance with these regulations may lead to financial penalties or legal action.
Save Money
Regular servicing of a sprinkler system is essential to ensure its readiness for emergency situations. Furthermore, consistent inspection, testing, and maintenance can prove to be a cost-effective strategy in the long term by mitigating the risk of minor issues escalating into significant problems that necessitate parts replacement or extensive repairs.
